Comfortable with intensity. Gentle with you.
Most of my career has been spent where things get hardest. That’s what lets me be calm, honest, and present in a weekly session.

Where I come from
I spent most of my career in partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs, where people needed far more than a weekly hour. Those programs were dual diagnosis, so I worked with mental health and substance use together, every day.
That work taught me when to challenge and when to simply show up. It’s also why I approach substance use with harm reduction rather than all-or-nothing, unless all-or-nothing is what you want.
Who I work best with
Adults living with anxiety, depression, and the lingering effects of trauma. Often that means people who look fine from the outside but feel constantly on edge, or people who’ve carried something heavy for years without words for it.
What progress looks like
Success isn’t the absence of difficult feelings. It’s having more room around them. You’ll notice it in daily life: sleeping better, reacting less sharply, saying no without spiraling, feeling at home in your body again. The best outcome is that you eventually need me less.
The space
My Chapel Hill office is designed to feel grounding rather than clinical. If you’d rather meet from home, secure video works just as well, and many clients mix both.
What I don’t do
I don’t see children or teens, prescribe medication, or conduct custody or forensic evaluations. I’m also not the right first step for crisis-level care or primary eating disorder treatment. In each case, I’ll help you find someone who is.
